The Palmetto Pipes and Drums are based in Columbia, South Carolina and is the midlands only community pipe band. The pipers and drummers from our band can be seen across the midlands and the entire southeast, playing for all sorts of events from weddings to parades. We are a member of the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association and compete across the southeast in Grade 4 and 5 competition.
PP&D is under the direction of Pipe Major Glen Adams and was formed in 1996. From our humble beginnings in the kitchen of Pipe Major W. P. DuBose's home, we have grown into a teaching band with students learning each of our instruments, the bagpipes, bass drum, tenor, and snare. We are currently meeting at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church in West Columbia on Tuesday nights at 5:00 for classes. Our ranks have grown and contracted over the years, and we always welcome interested individuals to come check us out.
PP&D are always interested in opportunities to play and perform. We are available as a band for parades and events, and we also have individual pipers and drummers available for smaller scale events such as funerals, birthdays, weddings, etc. We hope you find what you are looking for here, and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. You can also check us out on Facebook too!
Thanks for visiting, we hope to see you soon.
