Palmetto Pipes & Drums offers instruction in both Highland bagpipes and Scottish drumming. Whether you've never touched an instrument or are looking to refine your skills, our experienced members are ready to guide you.

Lessons are taught by active band members who bring years of competitive and performance experience. We use a structured approach that takes you from the basics all the way to performing with the band.

What We Teach

Highland Bagpipes

Begin on the practice chanter — a quiet, affordable reed instrument — before progressing to the full Great Highland Bagpipe. Our piping instructors guide you through scales, gracenotes, embellishments, and tunes at your own pace.

Scottish Drumming

Scottish pipe band drumming is a unique and exciting discipline. Our drum corps instructors teach proper technique, rudiments, and ensemble playing on the snare drum, tenor drum, and bass drum.
